Prime Video unveiled the trailer of Blade Runner 2099 during its panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where stars Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer gave fans a first look at the highly anticipated sci-fi series.
Set 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, the series follows Cora (Schafer), a fugitive who has spent years on the run. In a desperate attempt to escape her past, she takes on a new identity as a Blade Runner. She is forced to team up with Olwen (Yeoh), a replicant nearing the end of her life, to track down a mysterious fugitive whose secret could threaten the future of Los Angeles.
The teaser offers a glimpse into Cora’s bleak outlook on the world. “We already fought a war. We lost. Replicants. They keep taking it all away. Not much longer until we have nothing. Until we are nothing,” she says in a voiceover.
Blade Runner 2099 will premiere all eight episodes on Prime Video on November 25.
The series also stars Dimitri Abold and Lewis Gribben, with Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, Johnny Harris, Amy Lennox, Sheila Atim, Matthew Needham, Tom Burke, and Maurizio Lombardi appearing in recurring roles.
The show is led by showrunner Silka Luisa, while original Blade Runner director Ridley Scott serves as an executive producer alongside Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson.
