Saruda “Pimai” Panyakham, a flight attendant hailing from Tak, has achieved her long-standing dream of winning the title of Thailand’s most beautiful transgender woman at the 25th Miss Tiffany’s Universe pageant. The event took place at the Tiffany Show Theatre in Pattaya on Sunday, February 4, 2024. When Saruda’s name was announced, she collapsed on the floor in tears of joy.
Her victory holds a special significance for Saruda, who had previously made four unsuccessful attempts as a Miss Tiffany contestant. The theme for this year’s pageant, “The Future is Yours,” underscores its initial mission of advocating for human rights and equality for transgender individuals in Thailand and worldwide.
Launched in 1998, the Miss Tiffany pageant serves as a platform to showcase the beauty, talent, and diversity of transgender women, with an additional goal of attracting more tourists to Thailand. Despite her background as a graduate from the Faculty of Education at Rajaphat Chiang Mai University and her current profession as an airline flight attendant, Saruda faced challenges on her journey to the crown.
During the final question posed by the judges, Saruda was asked why she had entered the pageant. She articulated her aspiration to be a role model and contribute to fostering equal rights in Thai society, regardless of gender or background. Saruda pledged to advocate for a society that values individuals based on their merits and capabilities. Saruda’s response resonated with the audience, earning her applause.
The runner-up positions were secured by Kachisara “Bruce” Sridakote in second place and Jessilin “Jessy” Nakprasit in third.
