Thailand is set to launch its first-ever beauty pageant for trans men and masc-of-center lesbians. Called Tom Thailand 2026, the competition aims to celebrate transmasculine people, trans men, and “toms,” a term commonly used in Thailand for masculine-presenting lesbians.
The pageant was announced on June 15 during a press conference at Asiatique The Riverfront in Bangkok. It is organized by Bunnada Thippibal, also known as Phi Lek, who said the competition will focus on confidence, character, and self-expression rather than appearance alone.
While Thailand is well known for pageants featuring women and transgender women, Tom Thailand 2026 is the first to put trans men and toms in the spotlight. Organizers hope the event will give greater visibility to a community that has often been overlooked, even within LGBTQ+ spaces.
Applications are now open for contestants aged 18 to 40 who identify as toms or trans men. Participants must submit several photos, a short biography, and prepare a talent performance for the competition.
