Lars Pacheco, former Miss Q&A contestant, was crowned Miss International Queen Philippines 2023 at the coronation night held at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City on March 11, 2023.
Pacheco was crowned by last year’s Miss International Queen Philippines Fuschia Ravena, the reigning Queen for Miss International Queen.
She bested 24 other candidates for the crown and the opportunity to compete in Miss International Queen 2023 pageant held in Thailand, the largest international beauty pageant for trans women.
Michelle Bermudez was crowned the 1st runner-up, while Barbie Alawi came 2nd. Anne Patricia Lorenzo and Tamira Willis were 3rd and 4th runners-up respectively.
Bermudez will represent the Philippines at Miss Trans Star International 2023, while Alawi will also represent the country at the Miss Mardi Gras International Queen 2023.
Special awards were also given that night. Maki Gingoyon, the co-founder of My Transgender Date, the number one dating site for trans women, won Best Advocacy. RB Jean won Best in Swimsuit, while Jeysyn Ramos won Best in Filipiñana.
Pacheco competed in last year’s Miss International Queen Philippines pageant. In one of her interviews, she said she focused on her mental health this year to avoid pressure from social media. In last year’s pageant, she said she expressed the pressure she faced because of negative critics online.
This time she came prepared and thought of the negative criticism as something that is normal when competing for the crown.
The Miss International Queen 2023 pageant is slated to happen at Pattaya, Thailand in June this year.
