Filipina drag performer Marina Summers has publicly come out as a transgender woman, sharing her personal journey with fans worldwide. The announcement, made on February 7, 2026, revealed that Summers began her social transition in early 2025 and later started hormone replacement therapy.
In a heartfelt social media post, Summers reflected on the journey that led to this moment: “I’ve been sitting with this for a long time, trying to find the right moment and the right words. Today feels like that moment.” She spoke about her early experiences with gender, noting, “Since I was a child, I’ve always felt feminine — even deep into the parts that I didn’t always know how to name.”

Summers explained that her transition was delayed while she pursued other goals: “Becoming the person I’ve always seen myself as felt like something I’d get to ‘later,’ something I gently pushed to the side while I tried to catch every other dream first.” She also emphasized the importance of privacy in the early stages: “I chose to keep the first part of this journey with my innermost circle. It’s not as if I was hiding something from the world. I just really needed space to feel it, to heal, to simply exist in my own skin without the outside noise. I’m grateful I gave myself that.”
Summers’ announcement closes a chapter on her former identity: “To everyone who knew me as Yan or Adrian, it’s been amazing. But that chapter of my life is happily closed. From hereon, I’d love for you all to get to know me more as the woman I’m becoming. Hello again my friends, it’s me, Marina.” She concluded with gratitude and hope for the future: “There’s still so much to learn. I don’t have everything figured out. But I do know I want to be more honest with you and myself… This chapter means the world to me, and I’m happy to finally share it with all of you.”
Summers, who gained international recognition as a finalist on RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs The World and a competitor on Drag Race Philippines, has been praised for her transparency and courage. Advocates say her coming out highlights the growing visibility of transgender performers in global media and underscores the ongoing importance of acceptance and representation.
